Ron Pernick is founder and managing director of clean-tech research firm Clean Edge and co-producer of gridCONNEXT, a multi-stakeholder event focused on building a modern 21st century grid. He is the co-author of two books on clean-tech business and innovation, Clean Tech Nation (HarperCollins, 2012) and The Clean Tech Revolution (HarperCollins, 2007), along with dozens of industry reports. He oversees Clean Edge's stock indexing activities, which cover publicly traded companies in the clean energy, transportation, water, and smart grid and grid infrastructure markets.
Ron co-authored the first report to identify the business and financial opportunities of clean technology (Clean Tech: Profits & Potential, 2001) and has since helped to popularize the term and advance the sector. He has taught MBA-level courses at Portland State University and New College and is a regular speaker at industry events in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to Clean Edge, Ron worked in the high-tech sector, where he helped build the brands of such early internet pioneers as Internet In A Box, Preview Travel (which later merged with Travelocity), the WELL, and Yahoo.
Clint Wilder, editor-at-large, joined Clean Edge in 2002 and plays a key role in the production of the firm’s research and publications. He has co-authored two books with managing director Ron Pernick, Clean Tech Nation (HarperCollins, 2012) and The Clean Tech Revolution (HarperCollins, 2007). Wilder has covered the high-tech and clean-tech industries as a business journalist for nearly three decades. A recognized expert on current trends in clean-energy technology, policy, and finance, Wilder is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events in the U.S. and overseas. Clint graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History and did graduate work in Business Journalism at Boston University.
Gabriel Lieb, marketing specialist, heads up the day to day marketing duties at Clean Edge. Gabe coordinates social media, electronic newsletters, partner event promotions, website updates, and other aspects of digital marketing and contributes the company’s overall marketing strategy. He has 15 years of experience marketing in the green consumer space, including many years in residential energy efficiency. He graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and received his MBA from San Francisco State University with an emphasis in sustainable business.
Emily Blake, office manager, has contributed administrative and bookkeeping support to companies for over 15 years. At Clean Edge, she offers HR, payroll and benefits support and handles all bookkeeping duties. Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Portland State University.
